A Special She Speaks Live Virtual Town Hall

HIV: 40 Years Ago, Today, and Tomorrow

March 10th is National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and From The Bottom Up Foundation and WIRF Media is honored to present a special She Speaks Live Town Hall discussion to talk about HIV and its impacts for women and girls of color.

Join us and special guests as we discuss the alarming statistics about HIV among women/girls of color as well as in the LGBTQIA community.  We will talk about the persistent stigma in Black communities, narratives about HIV in media and entertainment, our faith, and so much more!

Black people account for ~13% of the U.S. population but 40% (479,300) of people with HIV & more than 40 of new cases of HIV.

In this engaging conversation, hear from Black primary care physicians, HIV advocates, and faith leaders as we take a look back at the more than 40+ years of HIV in the United States, where we've progressed today, and what we need to improve prevention, access to care/treatments, address stigma, and support policies that address existing inequities.
